Redgum
Just had a demo between my p8 predator and the A-tec maxim on my 308 Tikka. The A-tec is so light compared to the p8, its shorter and narrower. I was really expecting the A-tec to be a tad noisier, but no, it almost sounded quieter , this is really difficult to tell accuratley without sound testing equipment. What a breath of fresh air, a moderator that brings the report down to a healthy level but leaving the rifle with the feel of an unmoderated rifle. It does get hot quite quickly but this is not a problem with a hunting rifle. At last it looks as if I have achieved my goal of a light stalking rifle with the combination of the Bell & Carlon stock and the A-tec ( well once I have done the one for one hassle of paperwork)

Yeah read somewhere they're really good as a 6 baffle unit & still don't upset the balance of the rifle to much.

EMcC
I have an A-Tec Maxim and when I use it on my 30-06 I put an extra couple of baffles on it, not really needed but I do it because I have them. On my .308 I use the standard four baffles, in each case it is better than the T8 I used to have and a lot lighter.
