Davyo
Have been pondering on hand painting my 4x4,currently silver, i only use it for shooting so not bothered regarding the finish and i am wanting to paint it mat nato green. Would it be ok just to rub the panels over with some wet & dry & then just hand paint??
Alex C
Yep, whats the worst that could happen. Bit of a sand off, wipe over with panel wipe, then roll paint on with a gloss roller and lay off with a decent brush.

Drongo
My old Landy, I felt just stuck out a little in the colour scheme that I bought it in... So I painted it something more subtle to help it blend in...
chrispti
That's all I did ...... http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/130426-painted-the-jimny/?do=findComment&comment=1119429 How many ltrs did it take & how may coats. Can you pm me list of how you did it? I used some wet and dry, rubbed the laquer off, sprayed some primerover the rear windows then just rolled the paint on. I got a 5 ltr tin from anchor supplies and I managed to get 2 coats out of it.
