Catweazle
We can't have one of those over here, but we can have muzzle loading revolvers, I collecting my Ruger Old Army tomorrow
ordnance
We can't have one of those over here, but we can have muzzle loading revolvers, I collecting my Ruger Old Army tomorrow Nice pistol. Even though you can get full bore pistols here black powder pistols are popular and fun to shoot.
Beardo
i've shot black powder pistols a few times - it's good fun - i still miss proper pistol shooting though :(

Imperfection
I shoot both a Winchester underlever in 357 magnum and a 44 calibre muzzle loading revolver-they're great fun...even better with genuine blackpowder.

Livefast123
I love the 'Ol West style guns, we have plenty who shoot them at the club from the black powder revolvers to the 45-70's. There is something about shooting that style of gun that just makes it more enjoyable! I've got an .44 Remington 1858 New Model Army that is a joy to shoot. jamiedenny
I've always wanted to get into more fun shooting. Regardless of the amount if land I have and permission obtained I assume its really only an option for those in a club. Are there any near East Sussex that are worth looking at ?. Livefast123
This is another area that UK firearms law is rediculous, you should be able to shoot whatever you have over the land you have permission over, target or vermin, after all shooting is a legal pastime (common sense applies). I usually dual hat my firearms but I'm struggling to find any 'ol dang varmints or outlaws for the .44 Edited May 5, 2013 by Livefast123

Catweazle
I shot my Old Army today, and I can tell you it was fun. Sadly I only had a few .457 balls for it, so it was a short session. Grouping wasn't too bad, considering I haven't used a revolver since the ban. The noise and smoke was quite impressive even with a 15grn target load - way short of the 35grn+ hot loads the gun is capable of. I love it already. Livefast123
It is great fun especially when you get a line of 20 people shooting black powder pistols in a comp. I use Triple 7 in my 1858 Remington and find that you can use a small load from 15gr right up to an american hunting load at 30gr and the accuracy seems to stay consistant. You can't beat the loading, the smoke and the bang!

aister
I have been thinking about a BP revolver now for a while but I have heard that to have one you need to be a member of a range where they are permmited, is this true?

Yep-they're section 1. There are a number of clubs throughout the UK who are approved for muzzleloaders so i suppose ask the NRA for their advice for any locally. I use Triple 7 in my 1858 Remington Turn to the darkside and use black powder...like TS2.
