steve_b_wales
UPDATE: I took the torch with me last night for a 'proper' trial. Using it on zoom, I could clearly see up to 250+ yards. There was a half moon last night, and most of the fields were lit up anyway, so in total darkness, I would imaging that the range would be greatly increased. The battery in the torch was the original half charged AA Duracell. I have ordered 6 more yesterday (for friends) and will probably order another 2 for myself. Lampwick
Mine came today too. Blinking good value not really dark yet but hitting a good 70 yards! Only thing is when zoomed in the focus goes square with a sort of fish tail and it looks like a grill inside it? Hard to explain but any ideas? mick miller
Mick. Here you go. the chip need to seat a little deeper but i haven't had time to play with this one yet even though i have had it on the bench for a couple of months ATB Phil. Is that how it came Phil or after you put your own led and driver in. Any idea of the sizes? Looks like a standard p60 type 17mm driver but what about the led and board? Could you take a couple of measurements top and bottom please? Thank you, Mick.
activeviii
That's as it came. I put in pocket for when I need white light to find this is.lol. It is standards. I did know the chip but I have forgotten. I will have a look on the list. I will have a measure as well but yes I think it was a 17mm single mode. Will strip tomorrow and take mesuements as I want to change to an ez900 if they ever turn up.
Chris Bb
I tried it with a half charged Duracell AA battery. I've got some Surefire 14500 rechargeable ones somewhere. I'll have to look for them and try them out. You DO need another torch. Thankfully it arrived this morning while SWMBO was out. Result! colin lad
Torch is here it's ok but the ultra fire 501b seems a lot better for only £6 so the wife can have this one for her handbag was worth a look though for that money Colin
