Pigeon sniper
I bought a browning gold hunter as a work gun expecting it to get knocked about it but now that scratches and dings are starting to appear in the camp finish I'm getting all protective of it. Question is should I just stop worrying and get on with it or shift it on and buy something cheaper I shouldn't worry about? Cheers
browning123
I've always been to fussy with all my guns, I keep expensive ones also bought cheaper ones as work guns but still worry about knocking them about - that's how I am! Presently I have 5 x 12 gauge & 4 rifles - to many!
Churchill
Hey its a gun, unless you wrap them in cotton wool they will get the odd knock on the wood. my S687 is 27 years old, it has a high grade stock on it but it has a few small marks from the odd bump. and my trap gun is 28 years old and again has a few marks on it. i look after my guns, but over time if you use them you have got to expect the odd knock here and there. If you like your gun then keep it, if you bought it to sell on then wrap it in cotton wool. I spent a grand on Browning maxus as my pigeon gun as i didn't want to bash my 687 up in a pigeon hide. As said above decide if its your pride and joy or a working gun.
joe soapy
Had a chap used to come here testing the cows, always kept an old beat up gun in the boot of the car, He could shoot well with it. Then a spring broke and it had to be repaired, the local gunsmith refused to touch it as it was so valuable/ He was never able to shoot with the cheap replacement

Cannon
The way I look at it, they're tools that are there to be used. Few dings and scratches here and there adds to the character of the gun.
