Rexcernui
This might be a rhetorical question ,but do any of you use a sling for a semi auto? Mine has the fittings in the stock but I can't see myself ever being in a situation where carrying a shotgun on a sling would be an advantage . Obviously never at a clay ground but what about in the field? A gunslip is so much more safe in any given situation where somebody might use a sling, so.... Anyone do it? Tam
Use one on the Foreshore or a walkaround checking traps
aga man
i have a sling fitted to my hatsan. i don't use the gun much nowadays but i find the sling suits me for wildfowling and moving through woodland when roost shooting. i can't say theres any real benefit to it i just prefer it and my gun came with the swivels already there. on the downside they can be a pain in a pigeon hide for getting snagged on the net etc.
point and shoot
Very handy for when you are decoying and need to leave the hide. Can't leave the gun unattended - just sling it on your back and you have both hands free!
Wildfowler12
They're belting when you need a pee on the marsh
casts_by_fly
Once i leave the car, the gun is unslipped. A sling is great when you are doing a bit of walking to get where you need to be. Fowling is one case. Pigeon hide across the field is another. Rick

Rexcernui
Right. It seems that more people use slings than I thought. I usedto use a sling on my old tx200hc. I don't need one atm but its a thought for the future. Thanks all
Salop Matt
I dont use one myself as i carry the gun in my hand ready when walking rough and on a clay ground its either in use or in the slip so ive never had the need for a sling.
