Poacher
I'm sure they are first class boots, (from what i've seen they do look good) but would it not be wiser to select a boot that can offer the same features i.e gore-tex vibram sole etc but from a more specialised company who makes walking boots, such as zamberlan or scarpa... Just a thought, to confuse you abit
wickedandlazee
Good ide poacher - i can recommend scarpa highly, still got and use a pair of bronzos which i've had twenty years!!! Also bought a good pair of thinsulate patrol boots by tracker - 29.50 bargain - no more wooly socks needed

lurcherboy
YES Make sure you use natural wax once a week to stop leather cracking no other maintenance needed. LB
Dunkield
I agree with bits of what has been said further up. I rate Cheameau stuff normally, but I bought a pair of Aubracs and sent them back after only wearing them 2 or 3 times, as the rubber banding round the front was coming away already. I got a refund eventually and bought a pair of Meindl's with the money IMHO don't buy walking boots with Goretex lining (if you are going to really use them that is) just get decent leather ones and keep them dudbed up as LB says - use Nikwax or similar. Mrs stuartp wore straight through a pair of Goretex boots in about 9 months (yes, we do a fair bit of walking ) and got a decent pair of leather non-goretex ones as a replacement under warranty. deadeye ive
I am into my 3rd year with mine and I can't see me ever wearing the things out .I maintain them on a regular basis with dubbing Basically I paid £185 from sportsmans but with them came a free Deerhunter Microfleece shooting coat (Nebraska)and matching trousers which cost an additional £30 . It's that time of year when you can haggle some good tag on,s when buying quality gear
al4x
and if you go to France at any Time I'm told Le Chameau have a factory shop thats about 40% less than here and thats a mega saving on them.
LeeH
I'm considering a pair of the Mouflon +'s for beating / walked up. Are they really so hard wearing ..? I'm naturally sceptical.
