Got up this morning at 6.30 to have a bash at the crows on Phil + Chris's farm a bit wet but thought go eccles. Left house after doing dogs etc about 7.15 for a 25 mins drive to the farm. Got to out cousin's far next door and i thought be less walking if i drove down Simon's field. Got the gear out and a quick walk to the boys field about 200 crows took off sorry then that i had not gone early. :sad1:

Gear over the fence up with the hide and out with the decoys, then had a smoke. About 10 mins action started all coming in one's might as well had a single barrel. Only had 2 L and R or O and U as i was shooting one. had a couple of second barreled to finish off wounded crows. Shot them all off my drum seat got up to shoot 2 crows and missed both  . so i'm sitting down from now on. Finished at 11.15 to pack up mrs wanted shopping done. :/

Picked up 43 and 6 dropped over hedge into a field of bullox did think about going for them dead 1 but thought i can't out run them things.

Phil rung to see how i'd got on and said he'd picked up the crows on the quad when he checked cattle, said 1 was still alive so run him over, said he was scared to pick it up in case it pecked him.:lol::lol: i laughed at that i can tell you.

Thanks Steve, Carwyn and PC it is a good bit of sport crow shooting. Why more shooters don't have a go at it i don't know. :sad1:

Local lads moan they got nowhere to shoot, have asked them to come on the crows with me,reply waste of cartridges.

If i ask about rabbit, pigeon, game etc they quick enough up for that, but have stopped taking anyone anymore.

So i will shoot everything myself, its their loss.:lol:  Have enjoyed a fair bit of shooting here with a few members off PW instead. Terry

This is where I started off, and still prefere it now to any other shooting. Theres a definite skill to it and its a job that needs doing.

One of the best ways of getting farmers on your side!

To right Car :good: the 3 farms few thousand acres where i have been yesterday and lately on the crows, which i have not been for 15 years until they rung me a few weeks back to sort out the crows.

It's a bit far really 22 miles,They said when the corn, barley etc is ready, everyone is knocking at their door after pigeons. Have now told me to take it all and let me take anyone i want on their land. Will ring me when anything is on crops, but plenty of crows to shoot asap. Looking forwards to some more crow shooting there next week. :yahoo: ATVB Terry

your right mate everybody wants pigeons and game shooting and tbh i find game shooting is to easy a way of putting a bag together standing on a drive waiting for a bird to pass you   that aint hard to do! pigeon shooting can be hard but still nowhere near crow shooting! and to me that adds to the enjoymeant of the day! you need your witts to fool the corvids! the carrion crow is the cleverest animal in britain FACT! and those that say its a waste of cartridged probabably tried in the past and failed (to much hard work):good:

we have more than 20 farms between me and my best mate and why? because we sort out the ufarmers number1 enemy the corvids!!! and in doing so we now have access to more or less every type of shooting there is!

as you know terry it takes time and trust to accumalate good ground! yoi do right to keep it for yourself!
