Thedeerman
Doesnt sound like you'll ever get fat off it. Do the decent thing and do it for the enjoyment, or move over and let someone else make the farmers happy for free.
henry d
If it isn`t too far for your wallet, do it for free. If you do a good job you may get to shoot other things or get kudos for doing a good job with other farmers. Needs to be weighed up with what you want and what farmer wants. HDAV
Just consider if being paid there is alot of paperwork! Check that BASC insurance covers you for being paid, personally I would do it on a results basis perhaps a cartridge for every one killed? Beardo
BASC insurance won't cover you if you're getting paid
The Ghost
You could ask them to make a donation to Pigeon Watch Charity instead of payment, keeps everyone happy.

Beardo
they could buy you ammo to use whilst shooting....
aga man
they could buy you ammo to use whilst shooting.... personally i think this is as much as you should ask for. if you were running trap lines etc etc then that would be different as you would be more or less part time keepering. if you can get some shells out of it then thats a bonus. atb aga man. TopDown
I haven't charged for shooting yet despite being offered. I think it generates better goodwill if you do it for nothing and opens up possibilities for you that being a paid shooter wouldn't.
stubby
it really sounds great when people offer you money to do a job you love, but, theres always a but as stated, gun insurance wont cover you, unless its a purpose insurance plus when people pay, they expect more because they are paying, they may want risk assessments, method statements etc, even as a full time pestie (for a large firm that take care of the paperwork), I once had a large parks and gardens council contact me, wanting me to ferret parks infested with rabbits (in my free time) and they wanted to give me money!!!! had the interview, got keys to all gates and did one day, before saying thanks, but no thanks,
Mentalmac
I was asked to shoot rabbits by next door to a perm of mine and they wanted to pay me and I told them I wouldn't take any money off hem as i eat the rabbits therefore it's a fair deal anway. However at Christmas they gave me a botle of whiskey that's discontinued and worh over £100 already. Nice :-). They are wealthy and I could have seen £ signs, but no - it's my hobby. searley
I got a small farm recently, only 30a but lots of fox, rabbits magpie and crow. Land owner offered to pay for some ammo... I said no, it a privilege being allowed on your land.. I took her a small box of chocs with a thankyou letter.. Now she loves me to bits, i have free access to the land day or night, can shoot what i want with what i want. Even given me deer permission.. Just need a variation, and Hants Police insist on a mentor.. Unless i can try and get around that with some paid stalking
