im12agen Posted June 26, 2013 Report Share Posted June 26, 2013 Never owned a 22 rimfire but bought a Daystate Air Ranger FAC 18 months ago and find it to heavy to haul around after 2 or 3 hours. Its a lovely gun but with a little more research could have saved a load of dosh and had a more usable weapon. Anyway, I have some voluntary (medical) restrictions on what I can have, gun wise - main one, for this calibre, being top tang safety. I had a semi, but it was rubbish, so I bought a synthetic T bolt! Very impressed with it too, SAK mod on it, and with subs its very quiet. Ammo wise, one of us ( I.E. the gun or I ) doesn't like winchester subs, but its fine with remington subs (!) - I kept the paper target I zero'd it on, an I'll try and scan that later and post it..... I doubt you would regret buying one. eccles Posted June 26, 2013 Report Share Posted June 26, 2013 Nice rifle that Ranger mate got 1 myself wood stock though . Yes are a bit heavy but i would not sell mine awesome tool. Got a HMR that i don't use half as much as before i bought the ranger. Seen and handled the Tbolt very very light looked ok not shot 1 though. Using different brands of ammo , I could not achieve as good accuracy as my cz. The general feel of the t bolt as said above toy like, but The mags are good with spare in tbolt synthetic stock. CZ 455 seems more solid, more of a real gun while the T-Bolt seemed more like a cheap alternative. Saying that the T Bolt and the CZ both performed amazingly and I was well chuffed with both. It helped I had a friend who had both so we went out for the afternoon and just shot different rounds on different ranges to get a good feel for them. V8 90 Posted June 29, 2013 Report Share Posted June 29, 2013 (edited) I bought a Browning Synthetic T Bolt Hmr to fit my N750 on for last winter - the straight pull was the deciding factor, it's accounted for 100's of Rabbits & a fair few Foxes too ! Would I have shot more had I bought a second CZ Hmr - I Honestly can't say. Compared to the CZ's yes it's a bit plasticky BUT it's as light as a feather even with the N750, NM800IR & Moderator fitted. I have backed the trigger adjusting screw off as much as possible - it's still on the heavy side but I can live with !! Chap I take shooting with me uses an air rifle and he says it is about as noisy as a springer. Shoots a dream and has accounted for loads of rabbits. You won't go far wrong with them and cheap as chips. When I can find the picky I'll set the link. I have to say I'm not a lover of synthetic stocks. Far too many of them feel flimsy but that is a personal choice. I like to see wood on a gun even though synthetic stocks are better in the wet but then again bunnies don't like too much rain, like us. As far as your Fac air rifle is concerned it looks nice but again I like a gun to look like a gun not a pregnant guppy. I have yet to see the person, man or woman, who can carry more than 20 rabbits back to the truck. I have nothing against Daystate, I have a Mk4 IST myself but with a wooden stock.
