chris.s.j.todd
Hi all, I've got one 500g of noble no80 and four + abit 500g of no82. I'm looking to make 32g no6 in 12g but am struggling to find recipes and which primers work with it. Any info would be nice or willing to swop for similar amount of moder powder + primers. Vince Green
top powders, don't swap them. Will you be using felt wads or plastic? 24.5grns of 80 was my standard load for both.
chris.s.j.todd
Was going to use plastic wads I find they pattern better.
Steel100
I have a copy of the reloading manual for the 80 series powders and can scan in appropriate pages for anyone, if required. Regards Andy

Vince Green
82 was slower burning im sure , used to use 21 1/2 grains with 80 and a plastic wad but will check . Yes I did use that too. The eley loading tables jump about a bit, powder charges go up and down quite a lot for apparently similar loads. I think 21.5 was for compression formed cases like Winchester AA and Remington RXP

saddler
Er - would it not be a good idea to have a pinned thread on Nobel Powders? I'd be up for the mammoth task of scanning all the data/manuals I have & uploading them to the site...as at least then folk could read the data direct from the horses mouth. There is still a lot of Nobel 80 & 82 out there & I see this topic coming up on a regular basis Anyone have data on the 60 & 62 powders anywhere? All I have is a 1973 pamphlet saying that the new 80-series will use the same charge weights but the new powders are bulkier than the 60-series
roughshooter
I think I have some data for 60 + 62 from the old shooting times book which incidently is still a great book. There is a whole chapter on developing your own loads which is a taboo is todays society but makes great reading. I will have a look and see what I can find Graham
roughshooter
Just put my hands on the book and ther are loads for 12g 65mm to 76mm with 1oz up to 1 38oz which are all fibre wad. When I get to the laptop later I will list them for you (takes too long on my phone!)

roughshooter
I think you may struggle to buy the book however it " a shooting times guide to cartridge reloading by David Garrard and fred st ward". It is a paperback and long out of print but tideline books did a reprint some time ago. If you really want it then I think I have 2 copies as I always buy them whenever they come up. Data however as a taster is Chamber Powder Charge Shot 2 3/4" 62 31grains 1 1/4 2 3/4" 62 30.5 1 3/16 2 1/2" 62 29.5 1 1/8 2 1/2" 60 24.5 1 1/8 2 1/2" 60 27 1 1/16 2 1/2" 60 25.5 1 All above with eley kleena wads and sure fire primers (Cx50 or Fio 614 modern day equivilent) - plastic cases with crimp. Data is listed for paper cases as well but is generally a grain or so more Hope this helps Graham
