Scully
Fenn trap.Once we had positively identified mink we used to use them on floating 'islands' for our local river authority. If you go this route it would be advisable to insert it into a 'tunnel' (old piece of drain pipe or similar)trap and ensure no local pets could access it. byjovecarruthers
Ha ha, point taken. I was thinking sturdy fertiliser sack and thick gloves. It's only an option if you wanted to get it stuffed and mounted. Like I said I've never done but know that's one of the methods fur farm use for dispatching mink. I still think a cage trap is a better option in a garden, so as you don't kill something you didn't want to.

malkiserow
Thanks for your help guys. Seems said mink (or maybe more than one?) is causing havoc all over the place and known to be a local problem .... lots of people lost all their goldfish in one night and chickens destroyed! It has been seen by a few people. There are floating mink traps on the river. Cage trap inbound! Air rifle at the ready Edited July 6, 2013 by malkiserow
