Dressed for a Night Out !

After a **** day at work and weather looking good I decided to take the rifle out and chill out on a new piece of land for a few hours. Having not shot this land before it was more of a recky than anything else.

So off I went scanning the ground and watching plenty of rabbit moving around with the odd fox popping in and out of the wheat and barley and much to my surprise a couple of Muntjack a good 350 yrds away in the next field, so I can see my variation going in pretty soon :whistling:

Anyway I settled down on the edge of the copse waiting for the Bunnies to pop back out and they truly obliged, managed to bag 10 of the little blighters in an hour :) nothing special you hard core bunny bashing lads might think but then this little lady came out dressed for a good night out.

I have to say if I was a male bunny she would have definitely had my best chat up lines thrown at her . She is one very good looking Bunny how many of you have had any looking as good as her and dressed so smartly.

ps sorry her lipstick got smudged lol.

how could you shoot her :innocent:

I only saw her ears pop up from 80 yrds away then the a little of her head so the trigger got pulled , I was a little gutted when I picked her up though .

Had a few black and 1 brown and white before they are getting more frequent these days :/ well shot also :good:

I've never had one with a clear white stripe down it's head like this one,

You can't get sentimental,

They all cause damage and breed,.well like rabbits!

They need controling reguardless of how cute one might look!

BTW! I can sympathise with you as I have just finished work at Midnight, and had a shift from hell myself. My back is giving me jip again something chronic.

10 bunnies is a nice bag for an hours work. I got seven in around 2 hours whilst out last month :good:

At the stables where I shoot we had a lot of domestic escaped rabbits that had mixed with the wild ones so we had plenty of variety. The stables girls loved the blonde ones and thought the black ones where lucky. To me and the stable manager they where all just mouths eating grass meant for horses and hole diggers that could snap a horses leg. My fav had a lovely light coffee coloured fur with a white stripe up its nose and four white feet.....

I did feel for the girls so I did offer them a lucky rabbits foot each but they did not seem that keen :)

I was there last night to help out and still the rabbits have not made a full recovery. The last time we shot we shot 75+ over a week or so and then with the wet and mixy their numbers plummeted but six months down the line and there is only one or two showing. Even with the night gear they seem few in numbers... B)

You will notice in the local post office a card entitled.......... 'Lost Rabbit', and underneath it will be a description of a rabbit just like the one you shot. The eight year old girl to whom it belonged will be interested to hear from you.
