Just seen in today's Telegraph that M&S ate going to sell wild grouse. Along with rabbit, venison, partridge, pheasant and pigeon.

I wish I could sell them at even a third of the mark up they will put on them lol! Good news that game will be available on the high street though and hopefully people will adopt it and the demand for cheap chicken from horrible conditions disappears.

People fail to realize the positive impact hunters have. Here in the U.S., it is hunters dollars that support wildlife, all the anti crowd spend their money on is advertising against hunting, they don't come out of suburbia to help create and maintain habitat, they don't have any understanding of the dynamics of the natural world. With a title like the one this poll has, is it any wonder that it is running against your favor? In many parts of our country, we have a very poor public perception of hunters, due mostly to the actions of a few, and partly due to those who are respectful and ethical, but refuse to publically acknowledge that they are hunters and put a more positive face on our lifestyle. I think we were done a disservice many years ago when hunting was referred to as sport, not sure what label is should have been given, but sport in this day and age gives the public a false impression of why we hunt.

Update on the BASC web site - they claim they were hacked....

Thanks David, will have a look.I'm assuming they will now null and void the poll? fat chance!

I'm very pleased BASC looked into this by the way.It is a small point to make but is what I expect of our shooting organisations.I realise that to respond to each and every slur on the shooting industry/practises,call them what you will,is time consuming and a pain in the aris, but to let them go unchallenged, especially in the public eye, means the general public take what they have heard/seen as fact. It's all down to public perception, and if the public can be shown that many of our opponents employ underhanded practises in their dealings, then public responses of those who are impartial are more likely to be tempered with a little scepticism when reading or hearing further 'claims' by those who oppose us.
