henry d
The Beeb, whom I relied on for years, now only gives predictions for the week ahead, as do a lot of others. Anyone know if there are any FREE sites with longer predictions?

henry d
Nope, all want either money or just 7 days ahead or do not have anywhere I go, ho hum, seven days it is...
ayano3
I stick to the tide table books as some of the online ones vary to the books. I am used to the predicted tides from the book so online tables could easily catch you out. I have looked at some online and they can vary up to 1m so don't fancy a swim in mid winter. Terry P
If i'm planning a trip well ahead I use the little book, then check the time when I get to the area. Looks like you'll have to splash out on a book Henry
henry d
The main places I go vary as one is a 20 mile or so estuary the other doesn`t have, that I can find, a prediction for it, but happily there is little gutter running to do so danger of being stranded is kept to a minimum. fandango
Uk tides app for I phone along with met office app for I phone you can't go wrong and works for all locations,,, using the 2 together gives you a good idea of the tide state along with a probability of tidal surges due to wind/ weather,,,, and if it's on the phone you can check it while on the marsh,,,,,,, put these two together and also the compass function and you should be safe enough,, I also use " view ranger" gps and have all sorts of waypoints logged into it so I know exactly where I am and where I am going,,,,,,,,, modern technology ehhh brilliant stuff and keeps you safe. Would you need to have a signal for all those functions to work on the marsh fella, forgive the daft question but i'm not the best with technology. It would be very useful though. kent
Lavers, based on Liverpool Gladstone Dock with adjustments for all Irish sea areas. Not good if your on the wash etc though. Be aware that weather can effect both time and predicted height and you need to know what it means to your precise location IE. how much is too much and what weather is likely to do. Mis reading a table can be bad news be aware of daylight saving being corrected or not.

If its a 3G or 4g it should,, I have never had a problem and its a bad signal area where I shoot,,,, I myself am totally technology dyslectic but have managed to use it
