Help - Pheasant tail feathers required!

Hope someone from the PW family can help with an unusual request?

Had one of the worst shocks of my life last Wednesday when I heard that my long time shooting partner had died suddenly the previous day! Had been diagnosed as needing a triple bypass a month or so previously and was due into hospital the next day for a consultation and pre op assessment, He never made it.

Anyhoo, his widow is going to create the floral tribute to go on top of his coffin on the theme of the countryside and has asked me if I can get hold of some pheasant tail feathers.

Now I'm sure at one time or another, anyone who has shot game have had a few tail feathers stood in a jar or vase somewhere around the house or shed. I haven't got any at the moment neither have any of the mates I have asked and it's a few months too early to easily acquire any. So if anyone has a few tail feathers lying about from previous seasons who would be willing to post them onto to me (to arrive by Wednesday at the latest) I would be eternally grateful, full cost of posting and packaging will of course be reimbursed.

Please pm me if you can help and I'll give you my address.

Here's hoping,

Andy

I've still got a few kicking about but they are all smaller ones left - mainly hens. The wife uses them to play with the younger kittens so I'm happy to let some go to a more worthwhile use.

I don't want anything for them, post or packing - just glad to help out. All I'd ask is for a photo of the lovely floral tribute. Would 10 be enough and in 1st class post on Monday?

A thousand thanks for all those who offered to help and a thousand and one apologies for not replying personally to each of you but with one thing and another I've not had a minute in the last few days.

We are sorted now thanks to Hawkfanz who very kindly dropped a bundle of feathers off at my house first thing Monday morning, cheers for that.

My mate's widow was really touched and has asked me to thank all of you, she said it just goes to prove what a kind, thoughtful and generous lot shooters are!

Best Regards

Andy
