pavman
So the European Court has decided that convicted and incarcerated criminals have a right to vote, any lags residing at her majesties pleasure are to be given a vote at a cost of millions to the law abiding public of this once Great Britain, So what do we think of that The world has gone mad, stop it I want to get off
Guest jonrms
I dont think that is right. Convicts have lost the right to vote, leave there jail cells, watch porn, etc. You get what I am saying..... I think that is a wrong decision by the goverment. This is just wrong. the world HAS gone mad
il cacciatore
Well I'm not surprised. Criminals forfeit their rights like you and me have when they commit the crime - its supposed to be a deterrent. What deterrent is there to criminals now? They have more rights than we do (if they break into your house they have to attack you first before you can do anything) They have it pretty easy. decroyffe
I Don't know, even the country's service men and women can't vote, convicts sould fall into the same band has them. service personnel can't vote because if Mr Camron said he'd pull the troops out of war zones, they'd all vote for him, so what if he say's something down those lines about convicts, and improving there rights. i belive that convicts shouldn't be able to vote for that one reason, and i'm sure there's plenty of other reasons regards kieran

Highlander
Beats me why we even bother locking the ****es up in the first place. Unfortunately this is another of those inane bits of legislation passed by those un-elected ***** in Brussels which our lily livered politicos lick up to so they've somewhere to go (and get paid squillions) once they get chucked out of Westminster! Another reason to get the hell out of the EC. Countries like Switzerland, Norway etc that work within the EC BUT do not belong are selling more into the EC than Britain. Countries with far less people, far less resources and far less clout make the UK look like a banana republic which it soon will be. Then Gordon the Gorgon can be dictator! Mind you I don’t think he have the backing of the forces LB is only partly right…if we don’t stand up and get counted then we get what we deserve. Actually we already have! darebear
regardless of those (of us), who dont bother voting..... at the end of the day i think it is a down right disgrace that prisoners should get to vote. i don't see why they should have any rights to vote. prison isnt a detterent these days - which is partly why this country has reached an all time high in the number of people behind bars. and let's face it, a high proportion of them probably have a better standard of living on the inside than in their own miserable little waste_of_space lives. the human rights act, or rather the powers_that_be's interpretation of it has turned our current prison system and service into a joke. and it's a scary prospect when you realise that parties like the bnp, are becoming more appealing to increasing numbers of frustrated and angry people. il cacciatore
The BNP would probably exterminate the convicts not to mention opposition to 'the party', ethnic minorities, foreigners and just generally whoever they want. pavman
The basic problem is the country is going to the dogs, our culture and way of life (country sports) is under constant threat and some **** in Brussles can say that cons get a vote and we have allow it, Its complete and utter madness, let some Labour MP come to my door and canvas for my vote and he is gonna get a bucket of smelly stuff and short shrift, the whole party are spineless jelly fish who give in to any convicts (remember the cold turkey payouts) or Ethnic religious group who claim disparity with the mainstream For Blackthorne; Disparity = Difference, Inequality, discrepancy
