silver pigeon 3
Don't shoot at anything unless you are 110% certain that it is a quarry species, and enjoy just sitting and watching everything going about its business the same way it has done for ever. That for me is the best thing about being on the marshes

snowmonster
Take up another form of shooting before you get the bug and crippled with arthritis, once its in your blood fowling that is there's no turning back .
Barls2-9-12
Just go and enjoy it. Don't expect to have plenty of shooting, if you do it's a bonus just hope you can enjoy the moment of being out on a wild marsh. Persistence is the key to wildfowling. Spend as much time as you Can Watching and listening to All the different Birds of the shore and marshes' and get yourself a Bird book and check up on birds you see that you dont recognize.Time spent on the shore is never wasted' and you will see and learn more than you ever will on Computers. Good luck.

kent
Let them come in, more opportunities are lost through shooting at them too far out than are ever gained by taking longer shots

Don't spoil what we have, we are lucky and privileged to be part of what I think is the best sport ever. Barls2-9-12
Also a good thing to try out is shooting positions as a lot of shots you take will be sitting down in the mud. So practice these stances before you go with the clothing you will be wearing when out on the marsh.
