NP or BNP is Nitro Proof/British Nitro Proof as far as I know, which does not signify steel proof. As has been said the Fleur de LIs is the steel proof symbol.

I have on many occassions fired Gamebore Super Steel 3's and 4's through my non-steel proofed guns, but apart from one occassion through nothing tighter than 1/4 or 1/2 chokes, both of which are Teague steel proof chokes.None of my barrels are marked in any way.Steel proof chokes will not guarantee the integrity of the barrels however, but neither will steel proofing in general.A dysfunctional wad in a steel shot cartridge will lead to barrel scoring regardless of proofing.

The above cartridges are High Performance loads according to the packaging.

The choice is entirely yours.I am speaking from personal experience and am not advocating you fire steel shot cartridges through any of your guns;only you can be held responsible for this.
