I was granted my first FAC (HMR17) 9 months ago. Had to accept a mentor restriction.

Time to have the mentoring restriction removed. So I posted of my certificate and a letter from my mentor on Thursday 29 Aug which arrived at TV HQ on Friday 30th. Today my new licence arrived in the post with the mentor restriction removed :yahoo::yahoo: .

Allowed out on my own - happy days.

Thank You Thames Valley.

i have been asked to mentor two people, my question is -- can you prove they have,nt been out on there own without you !!!

therefore why bother with the mentor status ,, if they just ""feel"" like goinng out on there own, what is there to stop them, the only way would be if you had the bolt to there rifle in youre cabinet

You cannot stop them. It's the same as if you are teaching someone to drive in their own car. You would not be responsible if that person decided to take the car out on his/her own.

I once mentored a person, and he admitted to me that he had taken his rifle out on the farm on his own. I was tempted to report him to the police, but decided against it.
