willks84 Posted September 21, 2013 Report Share Posted September 21, 2013 Had a good batch of sloes so I thought I'd experiment Stewed the sloes with a drop of water and sugar left them to cool and then bottled and added the the gin Anybody else tried this if so what results did u have?? Danoi99 Posted September 22, 2013 Report Share Posted September 22, 2013 I put 500g of sloes in with 100g of soft brown sugar+ 100g of white sugar+ 2 drops of vanilla essence............oh yeh, and a litre of gin !!!!! Leave it for a year at least !!! I pour it through coffee filter paper into bottles.........crystal clear !!!! Love the stuff !!! Gonna do rasberry vodka soon !! Fatcatsplat Posted September 26, 2013 Report Share Posted September 26, 2013 Heating will only usually take a week off at most - Need to be quick though as the tastes will be different (Think cooked "pie fruit" vs uncooked).
