Sooooo, up early, early enough to be in the ditch before 7, get the gun ready and had a look for some old pigeon decoys that I had planned to spray matt black to help bring the crows in, then just as I was about to have breccy (i don't normally leave the house with out a bowl of cereal in side me, in fact if I could eat breccy before putting my underpants on I probably would!) Phillys text to ask me to pick him up a gayfc, two pieces of chicken in a snack box, so thought it was best to save some time and get breccy from gayfc ........... Which was shut, waited around thinking it'll open at 7, then at 7.08 and watching skeins of geese fly over decided to go to MaccyD, arriving in the ditch rather late but with supplies for the troops!

I bet Phil was gutted he didn't shoot the "ring" he's always wanted one to go around his tube on his call

I let him have my ring mate, told him I want him to polish my ring regular, even occasionally blow through it (once again insert smiley of your choice)

To Philmypower: Well done.

What experiences have you made with FUD Decoys ?
Unfortunately we are not able to hunt geese often, but it seems that especially greys seem to be scared by the FUDs at a certain point.
Especially at brighter weather conditions they come in up to 80m and the suddenly are scared an turn.
It seems that they can see the fold up shape of the decs.
Had you similar experiences ?

Yes on the graylags I've been finding them rather hard to decoy. Just got a greylag caller so hopefully this will increase my chances. The problem is full bodied decoys are great but how on earth are you meant to carry 30 decoys.

I have had greys coming in but as an average I'd say only around 20% where as with the Canada's around 60% success.

The fact that their harder just adds to it in my opinion. You really have to work for them.

OK, thank you.

We have to less geese here to invest in full body decs. Wouldn't make sense.
