hunterdave
Hi guys I've come begging for help again , I bought a used semi auto hatsan escort magnum about 2 days ago from a pigeon watch member advertised for sale on here ( I've called and text him explaining but no response ) and only got round to taking it to the skeet club today only to find it would chamber 1 round in the tube and when I put one in the mag and the gate sprung back it would try and feed it into the chamber. We'll I thought it was me not pushing the round far enough in , but after 10 mins of ******* around I decided to switch to my beretta and look at the hatsan when I got home. Anyway when I got home I took the trigger assembly out and saw that the magazine feed pin was only half way out and allowing the gate to drop all the way down so I removed the pin to find some muppet hat had a go at welding it , very poorly might I add and file it to a tolerance of a country mile so they had no chance of it working . So now I need a exploded parts diagram for a gen 1 hatsan escort magnum so I can get a part number I can't find any through google so I'm apeeling to the pigeon watch community Ps any ideas were to get parts in either derby , Leicester, or Nottingham Edited September 22, 2013 by hunterdave
team tractor
Solware tamworth are dealers if that helps . Personally I'd use Melbourne gun and tackle your way on .

malantone
name and shame pal, you are entitled to your money back , through the distance selling regs. I assume you RFD`d the gun and didn`t deal face to face, even so it`s not as described IE in working order.
njc110381
I'd want a refund on that or at least the repair paid for. Give them a few days to get back to you and then if they don't do the right thing, tell us all who it was so we don't get conned.
hunterdave
I collected on my lunch break about a 1.30 hr round trip from work but I dint chamber any rounds so dint know about the feeding issue, the guy and his wife seemed nice and we chatted about pigeon watch and general shooting. I hope it's a genuine mistake, but if needs be I will name and shame him it would be awful though as he is a pigeon watch member , I'd put a link to the advert in trading post but that would tell you who he is
njc110381
I already found it. It doesn't take much to figure out who it is as you can view the recent visitors to the member's profile, and you're there! As you say it could be an honest sale, but the fact that a duff piece of kit has been sold to you makes that the sellers problem rather than yours either way. Of course it's only fair to give him the chance to rectify the issue but if he refuses to it can only prove he's not to be trusted. If I sold a duff item to someone, knowingly or not, I would give them their money back. **** sticks and it's not worth getting a bad name over the sale of one item. On top of that I'd just feel bad and want to do the right thing. I very much doubt it's an expensive part so if it can be replaced then maybe that's the way forward? leadbreakfast
Yes it was me who sold the gun. And I would of thought you would of waited for a reply without slagging me off. Iv been out on the bikes so don't hear the phone over the engine. Firstly I didn't know that had been bodged and wouldn't of sold it knowing it was. I bought the gun of Wabbitbosher who then had it back and assured me it was back to new, I personally never noticed it wasn't right. I feel bad for what has happened but will inbox Wabbitbosher now see what he has to say.
njc110381
In his defence he's not brought your name into it and has simply asked for advice. And you've done the right thing by coming on here and starting to sort the issue. I can't see as this is a bad thing. If anything it will show future buyers that you're doing your best to sort the problem.
hunterdave
Leadbreakfast no body has slagged you off , I clearly said you and your wife seemed nice, if the shoe was on the other foot I'm sure you would be the same I wasn't to know, I called no response two texts no response , what would you have done. Anyway let's just draw a line under it keep it civil and I await your response as to what you are going to do. Kind regards Dave

leadbreakfast
Cheers mick. I have not used it much at all and not had any problems apart from a few jams now and again which I just took it as being a cheap semi auto.
Gordon R
wabbitbosher - you enjoy a very good reputation on this Forum. I have read many posts praising you and rightly so. Until this moment, I didn't fully comprehend just how good you were / are. Your service is no so much - "going the extra yard" - it is going the extra mile and then again. Top man. :good:

leadbreakfast
I think Wabbitbosher is a trusted seller it could be easily missed. I am not a con man and wouldn't bring someone to my house to sell a gun which will only come back to bite me in the ****. It will get resolved end of
hunterdave
Thanks for all your help guys, I have spoken to the seller twice today and he maintains he did not know about it , and I believe him, But at the same time I believe wabbitbosher, I appreciate the offer of free service but just tell me how much for the part plus postage and I'll pay for it , I don't work for free so I don't expect you to, I just want to draw a line under this , I've leant my lesson and will check twice from now on, this is the third gun I've bought off here so two out of three ain't bad lol
