gilo17
I have made a Damson wine port style, 8lb Damsond,3lb sugar,1gallon water,1g prepared yeast. It has now stopped fermenting but on the hydrometer it says "Start wine" is this because it will be so sweet? Is there any other way I can find out its strength? Or am I being a spaz and missing something simple?

washerboy
Why don't I like south african? Tried loads from £4-£30 Even blind tasted them, so I'm not a label snob.. Is it the grape I don't find palatable?
bk
If you like white burgundy then try some of the old vine Chenin Blancs from SA. I love them but I know what you mean, I find there is quite a bit of chaff to find the wheat.
