22.250-55grn nosler -37.5grn H380 vel 3850

targets were 375 yards off wind from 10 oclock 5mph with gusts up to 11mph.

I had previously shot one from the tree hence the other Magpies mobbing around but forgot to switch on the camcorder. Now ive got to grips with this uploading i'll take the camcorder out more often. I'm just waiting for another to upload to show the spot i was shooting from, i will add to posts asap

Cracking shot :good::good: What about the rabbit at 44 secs

I was watching the magpie at the time, and didnt really notice til i watched it back on the tv. And at 30x mag you dont have much field of view.

Funny i told the farmer i was going after rabbits aswell. Next time he says he wants ago

Don't want to spoil the moment but did you no if there was anyone the other side of the bushes, looking at the video it looks unsafe to be discharging any gun you obviously didn't see the rabbit or whatever it was ???

My apologies after freezing image looks like a cockpheasant not a wabbit...

Good of you for thinking safety there :good:

I cant fault you for being cautious, maybe you would not have took the shot because you dont know who was behind the "bush" well it is infact quite deep "bush" and as i had only 30 minutes before drove down that hedge line i knew there was nobody there, and when i say "drove down" i was doing around 3mph, i have clear view from the right and left. There is no public right of way in that area either, i would have been called by the farmer if any other person was heading that way, i have PIR detectors at 3 points set up before shooting, these were set out for later that evening to alert me of Fox's passing as that is a path that is used.(previous knowledge of the land) If they had been triggered i would have refrained from taking the shot. I work with H&S, issue briefs every night, pushing for DRA's to be carried out by every one of 54 staff i supervise.

I am not knocking you for your comment but the thing is you dont know all of the details, the lay of the land, or did not know the risk assessment i had taken into account, if you see the other clip you wull see that the hedge line was directly infront of the shot giving me full view of each side of the hedge, thus enabling me to see anyone approaching from either side.

I hope this makes you feel happier :good:

Oh! and by the way it was a cock pheasant. and no i didnt see it under the hedge, earlier it was in the field on the righ hand side just buy that pile of hedge cutting, and the 18inch bucket off a JCB

There's just no hope for some folk is there. maybe if the shot was taken showing nothing but grass for 100yds all around, there maybe the small chance there was a leprechaun and his family would be having a picnic near by.

Too true Dougy, ha ha ha, it don't take long for the "self righteous" mob to stick there oar in, and spout carp that really didn't need saying!!!!!!!!

with that mix for the bullet i guess your using a sako ?

I'm intrigued as to why you say that ?????? it is correct. well partly the action is Sako.

"Delburt" kind sir i have no problem people questioning safety its good that people do. But i hope you now have a better understanding and have took something from this open forum with regards to, not only your's but other peoples regard to safety. Thank you. and well done for pointing it out.

would i do it again ??? If i took the same precautions as i did before then yes.
