Cranfield
IMO ex MoD camo nets are by far the best. They may be heavier, but they do the job properly and you don't have to buy about 3 nets just to do the job of one..
The Essex Hunter
I use modern and x mod net as where ever you set up the back ground will be mixed so having a choice of nets is quicker to match your back ground. Sitting still is the key, however you need to be able to see what is coming in, building a fortress takes time to make and time to pack up... You should know roughly where you are going so taking the right bit net is not that hard...I have just picked up a piece of xmod desert camo for next years stubble shooting. It is 5mx1.5m so just right for a field hide...I may well use it in the snow as it should blend better than a dark blob in a field of snow! neil3728
Thanks for the replies, where is the best place to buy mod camo netting, I can't seem to find it anywhere online.
indio
I haven't used the MOD netting as I mainly have to carry all my kit to where i'm shooting. I bought a stealth net from A1 decoys in Bristol and found that to be very effective and light to carry. The "see through" Jack pike net is just that........see through for you but also for the pigeons. I normally put the stealth net up with the J pike net on the inside so that you have about a 6inch see through bit around the top of the hide. When you set your hide up take a bright object with you (Sainsbury carrier bag will do) place the bag in the hide where you will be sitting, walk away from the hide about 15/20 yards and if you can see it you need to adjust your hide so you can't see it. Don't forget to check you have some cover behind you so that you don't get a silhouette effect. I can normally draw the birds in , shooting them is a different story............. good luck
Penelope
http://www.bing.com/search?q=mod+camouflage+netting&form=DELCHP&mkt=en-gb&qs=AS&sk=AS1&pq=mod+cam&sp=2&sc=5-7&pc=MDDCJS Loads here. The Swedish stuff made by Saab is the best IMO. Thanks for the replies, where is the best place to buy mod camo netting, I can't seem to find it anywhere online. We do a great job with the hide................but my mucker keeps poking his head over the top to have a peek around !!!!! Scares every pigeon for miles................we call him BIG CHIEF WHITE FACE !!!!!!!!!!!
