JamesWhat
I know I shouldn't moan, but I wish my SGC would hurry up! I've been shooting since I was a teenager (40 now!), but never got around to applying as circumstances never allowed or required me too (my dad was a farm manager), but finally sent off the forms in August. I've had the interview, all positive, and the wait is driving me mad. First day's rough shooting booked in early November and I could be Wildfowling every night in this wonderful weather if it only would come through. I can only wait I suppose, but it'll be great to finally get out there soon!
HDAV
Nothing wrong with a polite phone call Monday to ask how the application is progressing.....

Gordon R
It depends where you are in the country as to whether the delay is the norm.
JamesWhat
I know it takes time, but some regions it's a few weeks, and then others........ HDAV's right, a quick polite call on Monday won't hurt.
thepasty
I've found that a quick phone call has always sped things up.
hopefulcatcher
Most forces work around a 60 day time frame, that is from the time they receive your application to the time the certificate is sent to you. You do not say when your FEO visited you, but I would expect your certificate to arrive within about three weeks of his visit. If there had been any problems, this would have been discussed at the visit. Good luck.

Grimmer
I posted my application off in the middle of September, and the F.E.O. is coming round on Tuesday morning (15th Oct), so that'll do for me
JamesWhat
great news........off shopping? I might have treated myself to a nice little Browning Maxus :-) Edited October 13, 2013 by JamesWhat
Munchie
Just got my SGC bought a Maxus. Lovely gun, really nice to shoot, had a few problems with it jamming, turned out to be a cartridge problem.
