ordnance
The lad did shoot it with a .500 Smith & Wesson. . Even if handguns were legal in the UK you wouldn't be allowed to hunt with it.
Imperfection
Why kill it? Rabies perhaps? Similar to the badger cull here and TB maybe.

four-wheel-drive
As has been said before has anyone thought that the wolfs may well be normal size but the people who shot them could be very small people.

scotslad
Number 1 sheep killers in America !!!! Worse than foxes over here While there is no doubt they will kill stock i would doubt no.1 sheep killer in USA, only present in a few states bordering canada where they are recolinasing althou the locals are trying to discourage them , in yellowstone park where they were reintro they are thriving and have really thinned out the deer population quite dramatically. I europe esp some of the old russia, eastern block states and scandinvia they can be quite a problem and they do sell wolf hunts if that's wot ur into. I used to shoot with a boy from the old Yugoslavia who when was a boy used to hunt them on horse back with hid dad with a kalshicov and 2 handguns for personal safety incase the AK ran out of bullets, said the wolfs would attack u, althou don't blame them if shooting at them most animals will
