Cosd
IF you've got a smart phone with built in GPS, download Navfee, it's very good, doesn't use your data and its free..... Else TomTom One if you want a stand alone unit.

Chris Bb
I have a Tom Tom and i have never had a problem with it.Good clear directions and easy to use. Do, however, pre-plan your route. Tom Tom loves to explore minor country lanes when there's a motorway only a few yards away.

Fisherman Mike
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_892653_langId_-1_categoryId_165685 I bought one of these recently on offer at halfords at the time for 45 sovs...the tom tom I had before lasted 13 months and the Garmin before that 7 I thought this is cheap enough for what I want and if it doesn't last at least as long as the tom tom I will just chuck it and get a new one. Its like a old style Blaupunkt car radio in some respects............... no whistles or bells to go wrong and just works. rwade545
NAVFREE on a mobile phone gets me to 90% of the places. Some small back roads not marked. Have down loaded the maps for UK+Ireland, Italy, South Africa and all work ok and free to use while abroad.

Salop Matt
We use TomTom and Nav Free on our phones. We invested the money 5 years ago in our TomTom one and its great, we even used it last month on our honeymoon in america as we drove it and it didnt miss a beat and it picked up satalites far quicker than back here in old blighty. junctiontwo
Depending on your budget, the GO Live 1005 is a great unit. I have one & my wife bought one last week - it came with free map upgrades for life plus 3 years free live traffic.

Another vote for Navman - I've had two, the first lasted me 10 years with few problems, and the above model, bought last year has been spot-on
welsh1
Tomtom,i use it to visit over 40 addresses a week over an 800 mile route from city to house on top of a mountain,it is better than all the rest i have traffic built in to calculate if routes have been blocked and re route me. Remember you need to update maps regularly if you want it to be at it's most efficient.
