HW682
A guy just been on BBC News 24 talking about putting out to tender for a cull of some of the 16,000 rabbits on Canna. Apparently they are causing havoc with landslides and digging up archeological remains.

pegasus bridge
Is it the national trust organising this? If so it stinks of hypocrisy as they will be stopping a badger cull on their land.

babs2020
would be great to take a team of stinkers up as well as shooting them
scotslad
U get dropped off on a boat and them come back for u about 2 weeks later no other way of transport, no phones, just a satelite phone if anything goes bad, think a load of paperwork and risk assements and all that sort of stuff before u get anywhere near it. Know some boys that have done it in the past. As for NT doesn't exist in scotland, would be NTS which is totally different, pretty sure its SNH that's organising this, Now there's a conservation body that has plenty of blood on it's hands Big difference is rabbits do not attract the same attention as legal to shoot (in fact have a legal obligation to control them), this has been going on for years and never been mentioned before and will be quickly forgot about

CharlieT
I'm seriously thinking about e mailing, I've got loads of time, and funds for a jolly to do that job, or some of it. NTS are putting the job out to tender, so if you're interested get your tender in smartish.
kent
Sounds like a gassing type job more than shooting, those numbers are vast you couldn't account for the breeding rate with 6 shooters, shooting I should want paying for the day not for the finished task / target that's for sure.
