THE Big Cats of Medway seem to be moving out into the county.

Big Cat expert Neil Arnold said, although 2006 has been one of the most active years for sightings and evidence of big cats roaming the wilds of Kent, there has been no sign of any in Medway during December.

"I received more than 20 reports of differing species of exotic cat across Kent, that's almost a sighting a day, despite the constant scepticism towards these animals," he said.

"Dover, Ashford, Gravesend, Dartford, Maidstone, Sheerness, Sevenoaks, Faversham, Margate, Deal, Hythe, Romney Marsh, figured in December's sightings, with 75 per cent black leopards, 15 per cent puma and the rest lynx and jungle cat, and one report of a leopard cat."

He said sightings remained consistent, suggesting a healthy population of differing species. Cats with cubs have been reported at Deal, Folkestone and Maidstone.

The issue of big cats is becoming more apparent all over the country.

The question is a lot of us do spend hours on our own in the middle of nowhere

If you are in your hide one day, you know that ideal one when you have backed onto a thick woodland, spinney, or even hedgrow

Then the unthinkable happens

A large cat not natural to these Isles appears beside you 10 feet away;you have just dropped a nice left and right only moments before and are crouching down- Your gun is unloaded

You cannot move as he has not yet seen you

Your cartridge bag is out of reach

Your mobile phone has no signal

Your vehicle is miles away

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Your thoughts of action please gentlemen?:/?:o?:o?:D?:D?:D?:o?:(?

Use the few BB's I keep in my top pocket for the foxies, mind you if the sound of the shots bringing down the left and right didn't scare it then what would.

OR

Wake up and promise to stop using the hip flask whilst pigeon shooting, Left & Right what next..... :/

a big cat. Both hightly unlikely for me :o :o
