Mungler
In or about 2006 / 7 when I first joined here I bought a second hand Deerhunter winter coat off someone from here. That coat has been "the nuts" and has done me for every Winter ever since. Alas, I think it has now had its day - the pockets have gone and all the lining / stuffing has dropped (like in an old duvet). Anyways, I need a decent winter coat by next week and I can't risk anything on line arriving late or wrong. So where should I physically go shopping for a new winter coat and no more than a 30 minute drive from Brentwood, Essex. Cheers all.
Flashman
Ronnie Crow: http://www.gunaccessorieschelmsford.co.uk/ Get on the train to Green Park and walk to Farlows via St. James's Street, where you will walk past the Beretta Gallery and William Evans. shootgun
Or get on the train to Bond Street, and walk to Holland&Holland on Bruton Street, off Bond Street, in Mayfair....
Fatcatsplat
But grease up first as they will abuse you in ways you thought impossible!! What sort of stuff are you after? The St James' shops all sell very highly marked up clothing for looking nice on driven and walked up days that you'd be scared to spill your tea on. If you're after deerhunter stuff, go online, or try Ronnie Crow just round the corner from Eastern Sporting. Or Essex Gun.............just saying. Mungler
What is the expected temperature where you are heading? -10 and poss a bit more with windchill, but lots of walking. It's a real pain - lots of walking to the peg in heavy warm layers getting a sweat on, then standing still on the freezing ground for 2 hours not moving. walt1980
If it's cold and windy with a lot of walking I'd go for a good quality gore tex jacket. But you need to have the right stuff under it as well, not cotton t shirt etc, you need wicking effect shirts and clothing! Used to sell the stuff for motorbikes every day!!
