walt1980
How do you 2 get on with the reach on your trigger finger? Had a thumbhole stock from highlands and found I couldn't reach the trigger comfortably?? Almost like the hole was to far back? Gone back to the Hogue stock for now, had another different make one to try and was the same, didn't think I had particularly small hands, usually take a large glove! Anyone else found that problem with other makes???

Anyone else found that problem with other makes??? I actually find the thumbhole better than the Hogue. I find the angle on the Hogue a bit odd as it seems to come back too far rather than drop down like a true pistol grip. I can also get on to the safety better with the boyds stock than I could with the Hogue. I have smallish hands so it's not down to hand size. pat g
+1 for boyds. Mine was £136 including taxes etc. Hi, Fine looking stock you have there. I have a Howa with a Hogue stock which i don't particularly like and was thinking of a Laminate replacement.Having looked on the Boyds website there is a couple i like and the prices seem very good. How did you find the ordering proccess, how long did it take to arrive and is it easy to order them. Also did the action drop into the stock without any alterations etc. any info you can give will be most appreciated. Thanks ATB, Pat

the enigma
What is the Hogue stocks like on the Howa............ is there much flex in the forearm?
pat g
What is the Hogue stocks like on the Howa............ is there much flex in the forearm? Practicality wise the Hogue stocks are good, hard wearing good grip etc but there is flex in the forend which i don't like and which is why i'm considering replacement. As for the rifle itself, no problems at all. Decent quality and value for money, accurate and decent build quality, ATB, Pat

Thanks ATB, Pat Ordered it and within a couple of weeks I had a parcelforce card through the door telling me it was in their depot and just needed the import tax paid on collection. Brought it home, dropped the action/barrel straight in and shot with it. Simple as that. Edited November 23, 2013 by r1steele
pat g
Ordered it and within a couple of weeks I had a parcelforce card through the door telling me it was in their depot and just needed the import tax paid on collection. Brought it home, dropped the action/barrel straight in and shot with it. Simple as that. That sounds straight forward then. I take it the quality is good? Certainly seems that way going by your photograph The prices seem to be very good. Ordering a Howa thumbhole stock throug Highland outdoors is around twice the price from Boyds even taking into account the import taxes!!! Looks like i'll be parting with some cash in the very near future then Cheers ATB, Pat
