Sammyc90
Right guys, im looking for a set of chest waders iv never bought or worn any before but last time i was out duck shooting i got cold and wet, so my question to you is, how do the sizes work? And what chest waders would you recommend? All the best sam
johnphilip
Chest waders are cold to wear if you go for neoprene are warmer but with being so thick make it a bit harder to walk. It would depend how far you are walking.
fenboy
If your a short *** its incredibly difficult to get a pair of chest waders that fit well in the leg. As said if its to stop you getting cold then neoprene is the stuff you need , prices vary a great deal but more money does not always mean longer lasting , my current Ron Thompsons are now on their 4th season of fishing / shooting and no leaks so far and they cost £

Big Mat
look here www.fishingwaders.co.uk Another recommendation for this company. My thigh boots from them are in their second season now, having done alot of trips and taken alot of abuse and are still going strong. Bewsher500
not for wildfowling use but I much prefer walking and wading in thinner waders and wearing bib and brace liners in fleece or other thicker thermal suits look at the dry suit underwear "bear suits" very warm and much more comfortable than walking around in 7mm neoprene
Penelope
If you have any distance to walk, neoprene will make you sweat and sweat makes you cold once you stop moving. If there is no wading involved I would suggest a decent bib and brace set for warmth.
kent
Thigh boots and waterproof trousers have a lot going for them, especially the fly zipper :good:Full chest waders are not cold they are hot and you manage this with what you wear underneath and not yomping out at speed with all your clobber on and fastened up- put some gear in your bag on the walk out if you have far to go and never wear something like cotton jeans under waders, you want fleece or wool
