Advice on first Semi-Auto

Hello there,

I'm looking at getting my first semi auto shotgun.

Primarily for duck and goose hunting but I'd also like the option of using it for smoothbore slug hunting wild boar sur la continent

Now, I do believe in buying cheap usually means buying twice so I don't mind spending money on something if it is worth it.

So, I reckon my specifications are:

26" Barrel - Should be long enough and am not drinking the long barrel cool aid

3.5" Chamber - Not always used but nice to have the capability

Possible to mount a red dot

My options seem to be:

Browning Maxus

Benelli Super Vinci or SBEII

Beretta A400

So, what do people reckon?

Anything else to consider?

Thanks in advance,

Scrummy

Beretta xtrema 1. Have one with a 26" barrel, same length as my o/u with 30 inch barrels. Has a locking bolt so extra secure, all the recoil springs and stuff are under the fore end so don't have to worry about them rusting as easy to getvto and maintain instead of them being in the stock. Very little recoil ( hardly felt with 36gram steel loads). 3.5inch chambers but cycle 28 grams with out any problems.

Only down side is the trigger is not the crispest, but that's not in usualy for a semi.

Look around and you will get a gun for life for around 750-800.

Add the SX3 its basically the maxus but comes up different. oh and its cheaper, think I have had mine 4-5 seasons now - hard mash shooting in the main and its proved very reliable and easy to service
