littlerob
right here go's i have shot ducks from ditch's / dykes and a river next to me permissions with eley vip steel size 5 and 4 with in sensible range for around 15 -20 yards but would like to go out on the marsh's proper wildfowling i have a Beretta al391 urika its not steel proof so would that mean getting rid and getting a new gun as if so have whittled it down one of two guns revo k200 3.5inch chambered o/u for a hatsan extreme max semi auto do i really need a dog and im a bit worried / iffy about the tides and the dangers off the marsh as i don't want to be calling sea rescue or thunder birds lol and as im a sociable person i would like to meet others for flights in return i could take out pigeon lamping rabbits or a walk around the farm to see what games about for us im not basc but will be a Xmas pressy
Big Mat
I personally wouldnt have the revo, they are too light to throw big heavy steel loads through.
fenboy
If you are thinking of joining a club for next season then I am sure some of us would be happy to take you out . Gun wise stick with what you have it will be fine with some steel loads , then look for a better gun if you enjoy it , I would not want either you have mentioned out on the marsh , as you get few chances and when you do you need a gun thats going to go bang not one that might do . Do you need a dog , in reality yes but some do shoot without them , I only had a cocker which I knew would not be suitable but now have a lab in training for next season , If I go alone I take the cocker , if I am shooting with guys with dogs then I leave him home . Its not that you cannot manage without a dog more that it will limit the areas you can shoot and be able to pick the birds.

Big Mat
A much more experience fowler than me was advising me on guns one day, he suggested a baikal the only gun you can shoot with, stir your soup, uses as a wading stick, beat the dog/othere fowlers over the head with and use to knock back in any fence posts

The Ghost
A common saying says 'that one mans junk is another mans treasure' or if you are a PW member you just say 'Hatsan for Sale' same thing. Fenboy you are right..I was lying Like that time I told you I lost my voice ? and you could still hear me. ...In 1982 scientists managed to simulate the agonising symptoms of full blown Man-Flu in a female chimp. She became so ill that her head literally fell off. Edited December 19, 2013 by The Ghost

I'd give them a go if I were you. I killed my first goose with the Mammoth no.1 a few years ago (through my non-steel proofed Silver pigeon IV). I personally wouldn't buy a Hatsan. The ones I've seen haven't performed well. I have no experience of the Revo. Any autos can jam, but my Xtrema never jams when wildfowling (unless i'm a Knob and put rusty shells in it!). fenboy
Really so did someone else post this from your account ? speak for yourself av had all best autos and now I use cheaper ones hatsan and the revos are used by someone else I know and they never give any problems!..as for berettas and versa max which both fell to bits, and a benelli super nova absolute garbage guns in my opinion,so little rob do not be listening to fenboy he is talking tosh and knows nowt the hatsans and revo's will do same job as the expensive ones that will fall to bits before for the bomb proof hat-stands atb The guy was asking if he should use his beretta or buy another cheap gun for the marsh , my advice was to use the beretta because you need a reliable gun and from my own experience and that of several people I shoot with contary to your opinion The Escorts are rubbish when compared to all the other brands you have mentioned. You have Jumped in on this thread and started slinging personal insults at me the same as you have on the polestar thread and as I said on that one , I have a thick skin and you are making yourself look a plank Edited December 21, 2013 by fenboy
