hawkeye
John got number 14 last night, it was a bloody cold night and the gas fire would not work properly the gas bottle kept freezing up and nearly putting the fire out. We were there for 8pm i left John to it at 10-30pm he was only going to give it a few more minutes. Any way i rang him this morning to wish him a happy 72nd birthday and he said he had all ready started with his presents " i got a charlie last night at 1 minute past 12 so it was on my birthday " i was surprised he stopped so long but it had started to rain and every time it stopped he started to pack up and the rain started again.. Then the rain stopped again and he had one last look around and spotted charlie walking along the fence line on our side so he could get a shot on with the NV and one dead charlie.. He was so cold after he had found it forgot to check if it was a dog or vixen I was going to alter the thread as John has just rang me, he had just given his wife and daughters a mouth full as i was the only one who had wished him a happy birthday,( he told me it was his birthday today ) Then they told him the reason why its not his birthday till tomorrow So Happy birthday for tomorrow mate and I'm not altering the thread….. Bloody 72 and going senile already

figgy
He won't buy one he's too tight. One will have to be found or gifted. Ask about Hawkeye as some used in pheasant rearing would be ideal for you, safe for in penthouse. Can you not run a power lead from the building and use a leccy heater. Figgy
hawkeye
Dave the farmer asked John in the summer if we wanted an electric lead putting in but John told him we would be OK with the gas one... I would have preferred to be electric we could have had a kettle and grill up there so we could have a fry up now and then
HDAV
The propane ones used in rearing sheds are ideal and not used out of rearing season can always stick a burner off the bottle for a kettle and frying pan !!!
