Cranfield
The fact that there are few pigeons on the rape in my area is a blessing at the moment. For the last month its been almost impossible to access my arable shooting land, due to the wet ground. Headlands, farm tracks and adjacent pastures are out of bounds, as any vehicle movement is ripping up the ground and trying to walk with the shooting gear on the back in these conditions is a nightmare. When the ground is in "normal" Winter condition, most of the farmers allow me to drive through the crop on the tractor tracks, which makes life easier. At the moment, even they are not taking tractors along aforementioned tracks. Bring on the frosty, cold weather with the rock hard ground, give me my access back. Seeing the flooding around the country, this must be a common situation for many shooters.
Sharpshooter.123
It's the same for us, my farmer will only allow us on 1 track at the moment

pigeon controller
I have some ground adjacent to the Lickey Hills , south of Birmingham and it the highest land around and it is totally waterlogged and can not take any more. It needs to be dry for a fortnight to allow it to dry out. The one salvation is that it did not come as snow as it would have been at least a metre deep
skye
Went to the farm today, it was a case of parking just off the road with a bit of a walk to follow. A few pigeons about but couldn't get many to come into the patten, ended up with 9. Good to get out again though, Skye.

delburt0
I Went yesterday the ground was soaked but my trusty carp barrow proved to be a trusty freind, the mud was upto 8" on my muck boots and setting up was not enjoyable , neither was taking my hide down after 4 hrs without pulling the trigger once. The birds where there just didn't want to play, all was treeing up around 500yds away in large oak trees. I even set a string of bangers up in the trees before starting as I anticipated this. Every time I looked around after the bangers went off they where getting up fluttering the landing in the same place all within 10 seconds.. :( All that went over the magnet and decoys where fast and high and did not seem interested whatsoever :( Still dog had a run and I got fresh air, better than Christmas TV.......
