Hello Lad’s,

I’m rather new to shooting; I have had an air rifle since the age of 16 and acquired my SGC in the last few months (October 2013). I have been shooting jj’s (clays) once or twice a week since and believe my some miracle I have improved! More recently I have purchased an air arms s410 carbine and am really keen to use it in the field. I live in Bexleyheath so the only real shooting i can get is on golf courses, i have asked all within a 5 mile radius and either been turned away or given the polite ‘no’. Any tips or tricks?

Cheers,

Rob.

Hi Rob and welcome to PW. As above, lots of door knocking to find your holy grail I'm afraid. Lots of driving out into Kent a bit too, coz there won't be much local to you as you've found with the golf courses. The Isle of Grain isn't too far and would be worth a try. Lots of farmland there with plenty of rabbits and pigeons to have a go at.

Good luck ;)

atb, Chris

Rob,

Kent Wildfowlers have an air rifle section. Membership gives you access to several shooting locations in Kent. See you've also got SGC, you could try wildfowling too if you decided to join.

I have been hearing good thing about them and planning to join prior the start of the next duck season. Does anyone know if they are still doing the ‘have a go day’?

Cheers for the heads up with the air gunning, makes it even more tempting to join sooner than later.
