thepasty
Hi Guys My understanding is that with a FAC shotgun you can only shoot vermin as conditioned on your FAC, however since getting my FAC back from a variation I now have that all my guns can be used for vermin and AOLQ. Can I shoot game with it?
saddler
NO Game can only be shot with non-FAC shotguns...as FAC versions exceed the law on magazine capacity
sixhills 69
I think the only reason a shotgun has to be a section one is due to it being outside the description of a normal shot gun I am going to apply for one this year on renewal. My mate uses his for for every thing not sure I would pull up at a game shoot with a semi never mind a section one shotgun but that's just me. Scully
As far as I'm aware it's illegal to shoot game with a shotgun capable of holding more than 3 rounds, which would render game NOT 'legal quarry'. No doubt someone will correct this if bum info'.
thepasty
I thought as much. I best put the 50rd mag on the 22 semi and take them with that WARNING:- THE LAST REFERENCE WAS TONGUE IN CHEEK You need to point these things out around here as so many are chomping at the bit to get their oar in
Breastman
The restriction is not in a firearms act, but a wildlife and countryside (the 1981 act i think), (and refers to the number of rounds the guns magazine can hold, rather than the total number the gun can hold), so game would not qualify as AOLQ. The police licensing team have no authority to grant permission for shooting game but i think you can get a special license from Natural England/DEFRA
Dekers
It does seem a little daft, and yes it's the W&C Act.
