Roost shooting last night!

It was shot 40 minutes after sunset. You just try using illumination on a pheasant at roost, damned things go ballistic when I used the torch to lamp rabbits! Perfectly legal to shoot a pheasant with an air rifle, they have a much softer head than a crow and I don't have a dinner full of bird shot.

I have full permission where I shoot, nobody raises game for miles around and those birds have usually spent years in the wild. They are prolific breeders! I shot a hen a couple of weeks ago!

Did you shoot the pheasant out of a tree or not? 40 minutes after sunset says it was at roost to me

Can't shoot a pheasant with a semi auto? really?

Sorry should have stated except under the terms of the general license.

WCA 1981, section 5, para (1), C, iii

Yes, really!

Well, no, not really actually. The actual situation is that It is an offence to shoot wildfowl or game with a self-loading shot gun having a magazine capacity of more than two cartridges. MAGAZINE CAPACITY. Therefore two in the magazine and one in the chamber is fine, as per all SGC semi auto shotguns.
