Dunkield
Christ almighty mrs stuartp will be devastated The ratings for his show will plummet, lets hope they do a montage of all his best bits including chasing that wabbit whilst Rick looks on embarrased as hell. A feeling all JRT owners know only too well RIP http://www.rickstein.com/rickstein_chalky.htm
SNAKEBITE
It says he was born in 1989, 18years for a Jack is very good isn't it? (I hope mine doesn't go on for that long the little sherbert is a right pain at times!)
al4x
its about average for a Jack. i know the feeling embarrasing little ******* at times but you wouldn't be without them. Once I cure mine of shaking shot pheasants on driven days I'll be happy

Whitebridges
I'm very fond of JRT's. We had a cracker on the farm until he went for one wabbit too many and under the combine

scolopax
Did most of my early shooting over a JRT, fantastic days and fantastic dogs. One hell of a lot of character packed into a tiny body. They do go for ever though, the old bitch looked like she was going to peg it any time, nothing serious just slept all day and looked pretty moth eaten, but she went on for years like that. The time came for the final trip to the vet and my Dad could not bring himself to take her, so my brother and myself said we would take her. The vets was booked for 11am and we spent an hour before hand digging her grave in my mums best flower bed whilst the old terrier watched us from the dog run. At that point my brother announced he had to go and do a job for somebody so I was left to take her on my own. I was just puuting the finishing touches to her final resting place when the old dog managed to get to her feet and tried the 6 inch jump into her kennel. She did not quite make it though, rolled over back wards and that was it, she never moved again. The considerate old lass had decided the writing was on the wall and pogged her clogs there and then 10 minutes before she was due at the vets. Dunkield
Tried some of this beer at the weekend and it reminded me of this old thread. Can't get it round our way, but I understand it is available in Waitrose from Salisbury way and then west from there. Bit pokey for my liking but a good one if you are 'drinking to forget' http://www.sharpsbrewery.co.uk/our-beers/chalkys-bite/
