activeviii
If you don't know what it is then how do you know you have to replace it.lol Show it on a wider photo mate. Also there normally is a part number stamped so you just type into Google and it comes up. Milner off road is a good place dogs. I used them a hell of a lot with the truck

hoggysreels
Throttle potentiometer .. measures speed, position of throttle via variable voltage, or resistance against a fixed voltage .. at a guess
dogz25
When I put rev my vitara to 2k+ it kind of cuts the revs and jumps up and down. I unplugged said item and it revs ok again. So good enough reason to me to change it lol
dogz25
Hi just found this. Looking at google it has many names. Even saying it's an egr valve.
HAYBURN
HI are you revving the engine from inside the car (accelerator pedal)....or from under the bonnet..
dogz25
Hi from inside the car. When reving or driving and revs hit 2000 revs cut out for a split second then cuts back in. Also I has a high tick over problem cheers
carpentermark
"High tickover problems" i would say deffo idle control valve mate. Had the same problem on a maverick a couple of years ago.

Brad93
That is not a carb that is by the looks of it a throttle body, carburettors don't have throttle position sensors. 1996 vitara uses electronic fuel infection so no carburettor. The TPS along with the MAF, O2/Lambda sensor and air temperature sensor tells the engine how much fuel is required.
