woodfordpigeon
I always turn shot birds breast down. Do you find birds flair off if you leave then on thir Backs. woodfordpigeon
shootnfish
Sometimes they do sometimes they don't ,but i do turn them over or get the dog to bring them in when there's a quiet spell. But sometimes nothing puts them off.
KFC
I used to but I read a book written years ago by an old Pigeon shooter and he used to just throw his dead decoy Pigeons around any old how when he set up. Birds still come in but also, sometimes, flare away but I've had that happen whatever setup I'm using. Last week I'd already shot some birds which were laying on their backs and I didn't get a chance to turn them before other birds came in. It didn't seem to deter them so I guess it's a matter of choice.
Hamster
Very occasionally it seems not to matter how they end up but mostly I find breast up or crash landed birds with loads of loose feathers seem to flare off incoming birds so tend to clear up. matone
Bird on it`s back always spooks them off for me,suppose it depends how much hassle pigeons get in your area.
EMcC
Pigeons on their backs only attract the cock birds, they think the birds on their backs are hens so they can dive straight in ;-)
JDog
Pigeons dead on their backs indicates a distress sign and others come in to help.
woodfordpigeon
I see the theory here. we had a old bird down in the village always on her back she attracted cocks too. woodfordpigeon
KFC
Pigeons dead on their backs indicates a distress sign and others come in to help. Or too much fermented fruit. Hic
cocknee
Pigeons dead on their backs indicates a distress sign and others come in to help. The more on their backs the better healthy birds think there has been a major disaster and call in many reinforcements to help.

You've finally Sussed my secret method you place blue flashing lights around the pattern and birds in distress and the first aiders and the undertakers come in from miles around.
