bobby b
I have just bought a new sx3 and was wondering if there is a running in period? Is there a minimum for shell grams? How many you need to put through? Thanks.
foxbuster
Not that I'm aware of buddy-I used 50g loads straight off in my s/a, around a thousand shells through it since and no problems.
Woodmister
Usually people just run a box of heavy loads though to get the mechanism working as it should be! After about 50 you should be ok
humperdingle
Recently bought a Beretta A300 Outlander. The case had a big yellow sticker on it stating a minimum of 30 gram (maybe 32 gram, i'd need to check) loads should be used during the "Running in". Didn't say how many shots, but I have a couple of boxes of 32s, so I'll put them through it.
Rimfireboy
32 gram plus should be ok, I put a couple of boxes of 36 gram loads through plus some 46-50 gram magnums mixed in. By that time I reckon they should be bedded in ok.
brett1985
i put a slab of 32gram 6's through my ES100 and have never had an issue. i think it matters more on inertia driven guns, but i can see why you should do it on gas guns also... mickmep
only ever put 28g clay cartridges through my sx3 and A400 from new and not had an issue with them. I would just use your normal cartridges, unless you're using 21/24g clay cartridges normally.

Dekers
I'm not at all sure it is necessary to smack in heavy loads, perhaps best to avoid low recoil or light loads though.
