Last gasp success

My first season wildfowling has been a steep learning curve and as such my total for the season consisted of just one wigeon .

I decided to give it a good go in the last week but had another 3 blank flights so it was down to the wire on the last day.

Fortunately help was at hand and I was taken out by a fellow fowler with a great deal of experience who went out of his way to ensure I had a few shots.

My shooting was unusually wayward , its not so easy stuck in a small creek  and I fluffed my first few chances .

I then managed to get a hen wigeon which was soon followed by my first ever cock bird .

So the season ended on a high for me .

Already looking forward to next season.

Big bags and wildfowling don't belong In the same sentence.

Each year at Lindisfarne the average visit produces half a bird. That means you have to visit twice to shoot a bird. Wildfowlers accept that, it's not a numbers game.

A man shares his success after a long hard season of trying to get under the birds, and it has been very difficult and you come out with that?
