Fuji Shooter
My lad is 17 in a couple of months time so we went to look for a car today for him. After looking at loads he decided that a Skoda Roomster ticked all his boxes. He is going to be a musician so needed something with lots of space for his kit. Have to say I was quite impressed, he ended up with a 1.4 petrol with a Panoramic sunroof, climate control and parking sensors. Group 3 insurance so he has been quoted £1400 in his name with no black box and stating that he will fill it full of kit. Even better was the 52mpg we got on the way back from the garage. They have come a long way, build quality is very good and it drives well for what it is. You can even remove all of the seats and turn it into a van. I already has privacy glass so he is over the moon as you can't see his gear.

delburt0
Good cars had a couple of Octavia's as taxis got rid at 200 k with no major issues.

Trevorevans
Removable seats, privacy glass - what more could a healthy 17 year old need Lol!. Seriously though I just bought an octavia 4x4 1.9 tdi estate on a '55 plate, it's not too pretty on the outside but jump in and it's got dual climate control and heated leather seats amongst other toys, storage boxes everywhere also returns 50 to the gallon. Can't fault it so far just need to get over the badge snobbery lol.

Trevorevans
I've been thinking about an octavia 4x4 estate. what mpg are you getting? Drove it back from Brigewater (to Pontypridd) and on filling up i worked out it returned 49.7 mpg, the computer was showing 51.2 mpg. That's at 75-80 mph using the heated seats and climate control, I can live with that! Lol. Certainaly better than the 22mpg I was getting out of my 2.8 v6 Audi A4 quattro and that wasn't driving it hard either.
neil3728
Tried to buy a Octavia recently, the sales man was just not interested, waiting list is too long for them to care. Drove 300 yrds and I ordered a VW Passat, staff a lot more helpful and the deal they did makes is cheaper than the Octavia anyway.

My pal "converted" from VW to Skoda a few years ago basically based on price. Reckons he'll be going back to VW next time, again based on price! washerboy
Skoda dealership was one of the worse I visited, vw were Ok,Seat were the best by far.lent me a new Leon for a day and a toledo for a full afternoon. The Leon was a a top spec petrol engined model and I wanted diesel, so they rang two days later and had the model in I wanted and lent me it all day. Nothing was too much bother.
