Salopian
Watched an interesting Panorama last night. Legal Industry are possibly busy today typing claim and counter claim. People need to remember that Bernie made F1 what it is today as an industry. If Bernie does Porridge there will be many families in the Poor House in years to come in my opinion. Not condoning any jiggery pokery but it certainly is intriguing how he moves his money around.

keg
He saw the opportunity when it was still an amateur sport which gentleman dabbled in and he has create what it is today. Did he skate on thin ice? Almost certainly. Don't know enough to say if he ever went over the lane.

Stealing? Inventive accounting maybe, The Govt settled for £10million so the £2billion was bandied about but very hard to actually prove, Just watched it and it was a VERY biased show
Catweazle
He saw the opportunity when it was still an amateur sport which gentleman dabbled in and he has create what it is today. Is that good though ? The sport has been massively sponsored by the tobacco industry who used it as a vehicle to get millions of people in the third world addicted to smoking, and who knows how many hundreds of thousands have died as a result. Inventive accounting maybe, The Govt settled for £10million so the £2billion was bandied about but very hard to actually prove, Just watched it and it was a VERY biased show Well had it been anyone else you'd have called it stealing. If you know anything about F1 and it's recent history and how Bernie married then transferred his wealth and rights to his wife (who the hell would do that ?) for the sole purpose of avoiding taxes then you'll know there is huge back hander shenanigans going on when the government settles for £10 m ! It's not like he'd be a pauper if he paid his taxes fairly like the rest of us, he'd still be amongst the absolute richest on the planet but being rotten to the core means he can't bear let money go out of his control. Any programme about him is going to be biased because the minute you delve into this guy or people like him, the picture is always murky and deceit and skullduggery are never far. Oh and got separated from his wife but receives $100 million annually from her funds, allegedly.
shaun4860
I don't dispute there has been something dodgy going on but when it only comes to light because someone who also gets caught starts pointing the finger then it gets very murky We will never know the true story, Bernie will NOT do time over it, I note that Bernie pays his personal taxes in this country, which these days is rare when you look at all the loopholes, I do know that F1 wouldn't be what it is without him, and accept that it still doesn't make it right. The outcome will be interesting
