Zapp
Guys As some of you probably know, in what used to be known as my spare time I help run a microbrewery with another ex army chap, after we were given assistance by the Royal British Legion to set up under a scheme they used to run for ex soldiers. We are donating some ale as raffle prizes for the charity shoot, but the other day I was having a think and came up with an idea to hopefully raise some more cash for the charity. As such, Teal has kindly allowed me to post this thread to publicise the fact that our ale will be available in 500ml bottles to anyone who would like some for the shoot. The normal bottle price is £2.50 for 1-7 bottles, or £2.25 for 8 or more. In order to boost the total, I will donate 10% from the sale of every bottle to the charity. I will our rather basic website as soon as possible, describing the full range of bottled ales on offer. In the meantime, here is a link: http://ckcb.webs.com/ Cornucopia, Bencroft and UXB (on the "our beers" page) are all available, but there are 5 more beers that arent on the page yet. These are: Vann's Cross, 3.8% amber ale, Vincenzo's Oil, 3.4% mild, Ned Kelly, 4.5% oat stout, Inception, 3.6% pale ale, Ginger Gringo, 3.6% pale ale spiced with root ginger. Please either contact me by PM or post on here if you would like some ale and I will bring it along to the shoot. If anyone decides they want some on the day, the brewery is only 4 miles from the shooting ground, so I can open up afterward for any thirsty stragglers. Well done Zapp. Thank you One of our beers is named in honour of a VC winner from the town, and we make a donation on every cask of it we sell to the RBL. Got to give something back
Grandalf
Nice of you to take that view Zapp. However all ex service personnel 'gave back' whilst they were serving. I find it is fairly easy to raise funds for the RBL in the present climate of the Iraq and Afghanistan operations. Conversation usually goes along the line of: 'Good morning, I'm from the British Legion'. 'Hi, how much do you want'? East Anglian people are very supportive of the RBL.
