Probably bad form that my first post wasn't this one, but hey ho :welcomeani:

Started shooting at 16 with friends and then mainly ignored it for most of my life up until last year when I got the bug bigtime again. Right now I'm shooting mainly clays before next season starts (at Lakenheath), with friends and their guns (mainly 12g o/u baikal and Lanber (damn sight nicer than that heavy baikal tbh :-) ), but hope to get my own very soon (loving the beretta S/P / 686E etc after looking last w/e)

and I've got my FEO coming around tomorrow !!! so fingers X'd.

So far I've just been reading the forum and gleeming info left right and centre, an excellent source of information.

edit: Forgot to include a picture of my boys. Unfortunatley we lost Tolly (the yellow lab) just before Xmas :good: and now just have Murphy), but we're looking to get another black puppy from the same place (Buttershall gundogs near Thetford) quite soon.

Glad it all went well for you.

Are you going to start shopping; maybe place a deposit on a new prezzy fo yourself?

I'm doing the whole 2nd hand beretta SP/Sporter/682E etc vs brand new lanber dance atm. I shoot with a friends baikal and now lanber (nicer) and like it. The group I shoot with are all lanber o/u and semi owners (escort and beretta (for wildfowling apparently)).

I've since got signoff to spend my bonus (should go home from work depressed more often :good: ), which opens up new berettas etc, so now I have no idea. Basically my next steps are to try as many as I can over the coming weeks and get down to the cambridge shooting ground for some lessons/advice on purchase/fit etc I know the most important thing is fit and me, not nessecerily the gun, so I'd probably get it fitted properly anway, does that essentially disregard the feel I get in the shop ?

I should add I'll be mainly claying this spring/summer and then hopefully gaming (once I've paid my £6 for the game certificate) when the new season starts.

Yours, confused of Haverhill :-D

Welcome to PW.

If you shoot at Lakenheath maybe you'd like to join us (PW Members) for an impromptu days clays over there. See the thread in the meet up section, but basically it's on Friday 2nd March 2007.

SS :)

Thanks SS, I had noticed that, but with a distinct lack of SGC or gun by March 2nd I didn't want to impose on complete strangers

However, if Wookie is going, I may be able to come , but thanks.

I don't suppose you've tried the Braintree clay ground ? comments ?

Check the meet thread, but I believe Wookie is coming.

Yep I've shot the Fenns once or twice. Not my favorite ground, but some good targets. Shame they can't change it around much, but every target you could think of is there for you to have ago at.

The skeet range is IMHO an abomination and should be resited away from any other traps that go off in field of view.

Might see you on the 2nd then............??

SS :)
